System Architect – Hardware-Software Co-Design (AI Rack)

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a world-class System Architect to join our team and drive the hardware-software co-design of our next-generation AI rack. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in a highly technical environment and has a deep understanding of system architecture, spanning hardware, firmware, and cloud software.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and architect AI rack systems, integrating hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Collaborate with silicon, firmware, and cloud software teams to optimize performance, power, and reliability.
  • Develop system requirements and specifications covering compute, networking, and storage aspects.
  • Lead hardware-software co-design efforts, ensuring efficient interaction between system components.
  • Work on high-level system modeling and performance analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership for system tray design, electrical, mechanical, and thermal considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and protocols such as SONiC, Redfish, OpenBMC, and cloud-native orchestration frameworks.
  • Evaluate and select technologies, IP, and vendors to optimize system performance and cost.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to align on system requirements and integration strategies.

Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in system architecture, hardware-software co-design, or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of SONiC, cloud software stacks, networking protocols, and system management interfaces like Redfish.
  • Strong knowledge of compute tray design, electrical, mechanical, and thermal considerations in data center environments.
  • Experience with AI workloads, high-performance computing, and distributed systems.
  • Expertise in system modeling, performance analysis, and tradeoff studies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to write detailed architecture specifications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and drive innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and optimizing AI or high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with power management, cooling strategies, and hyperscale data center operations.
  • Knowledge of hardware accelerators (GPUs, TPUs, FPGAs) and their integration into AI workloads.

Compensation:

The national pay range for our technical roles is $100,000-$500,000. The national pay range for our non-technical roles is $75,000-$470,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience aligned with Auradine’s internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
