Mechanical Engineer

Why join Auradine? You want to be a part of something groundbreaking, where every day, you can see the impact of your work. At Auradine, you will join a talent-rich group of problem solvers and doers; in a culture that focuses on team, growth, innovation, and creativity.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Auradine, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the mechanical systems and infrastructure required to support blockchain, privacy, and AI systems. This position requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with short product development cycles. You will work as part of a project team, taking design projects from concept through release and collaborating with other functional groups to ensure the successful integration of electro-mechanical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Chassis Design and Development

  • Design and develop chassis-based products for decentralized web infrastructure, considering electro-mechanical packaging, thermal management, power requirements, safety regulations, and EMI issues.
  • Utilize a 3D solids modeling package (preferably Solidworks) to create detailed designs and conduct tolerance analysis of complex systems.
  • Prepare chassis for thermal, EMC, and environmental tests, and perform testing, troubleshooting, and reworking using tools and machine shop equipment.

2. Collaboration and Project Management:

  • Work as part of a project team, collaborating with cross-functional groups including electrical engineers, software developers, and operations personnel to ensure successful project execution.
  • Interact with other functional groups to gather requirements, provide design input, and address integration challenges.
  • Create and release deliverables, including drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and other documentation, adhering to Arena or similar Product Data Management (PDM) tools and understanding the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process.

3. Sheet Metal Design and Manufacturing:

  • Apply working knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes for low and mid-volume production to develop efficient and cost-effective chassis designs.
  • Ensure compliance with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles, considering factors such as ease of assembly, material utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve any production-related issues and implement design improvements.

4. Software Proficiency and Documentation:

  • Utilize 3D solids modeling software (e.g., Solidworks) and Product Data Management (PDM) tools (e.g., EPDM) effectively for design and documentation tasks.
  • Perform IDF & ECAD-MCAD transfer processes, ensuring seamless collaboration between electronic and mechanical design teams.
  • Generate accurate and detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and other documentation required for manufacturing and assembly.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Electro-Mechanical Engineer, ideally working on chassis-based products and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical packaging, thermal management, power distribution, safety regulations, and EMI considerations.
  • Proficiency in 3D solids modeling software, preferably Solidworks, and working knowledge of EPDM or similar PDM tools.
  • Experience in conducting tolerance analysis and using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
  • Familiarity with Arena or similar PDM tools and understanding of the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes for low and mid-volume production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Compensation:

The national pay range for our technical roles is $100,000-$500,000. The national pay range for our non-technical roles is $75,000-$470,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and aligned with Auradine’s internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
